حساب کاربری اسپیس‌ایکس در شبکه‌ی اجتماعی ایکس پست جدیدش را با بهره‌گیری از سرویس اینترنت Direct to Cell منتشر کرده است تا دستاورد بسیار مهمی برای این شرکت ثبت شود.
ایلان ماسک در تکمیل گفته‌های اسپیس‌ایکس درباره اینترنت ماهواره‌ای مخصوص گوشی‌های عادی اضافه کرد که پست مورد بحث ازطریق یک گوشی عادیِ متصل‌به ماهواره و بدون نیاز به تجهیزات ویژه ارسال شده است.
Direct to Cell که مهرماه امسال معرفی شد، سرویس جدید استارلینک برای انتقال «متن، صدا و داده» است و در ماه‌های اخیر بارها مورد توجه قرار گرفته. اسپیس‌ایکس هنگام رونمایی Direct to Cell گفت این سرویس در سال ۲۰۲۴ امکان ارسال پیام متنی را فراهم خواهد کرد و در سال ۲۰۲۵ قابلیت صدا و داده به آن اضافه خواهد شد.
شرکت فضایی ایلان ماسک اوایل دی‌ماه ۶ ماهواره‌ی مختص به Direct to Cell را به مدار زمین فرستاد و گفت که آزمایش این سرویس را خیلی زود شروع می‌کند.
اسپیس‌ایکس می‌گوید Direct to Cell اپراتورهای موبایلی را در سراسر دنیا قادر می‌سازد که «دسترسی یکپارچه‌ی جهانی به پیام‌رسانی، تماس و وب‌گردی» را به کاربرانشان ارائه دهند.
بر اساس گفته‌ی ایلان ماسک، سرویس جدید استارلینک اینترنت ماهواره‌ای مخصوص گوشی‌های عادی با «گوشی‌های LTE موجود» سازگاری دارد تا برای اتصال به اینترنت ماهواره‌ای به پایانه‌های زمینی نیاز پیدا نکنید. همچنین کاربر برای دسترسی به سرویس پیام، تماس و اینترنت ماهواره‌ای، به نصب اپلیکیشنی خاص نیاز ندارد.
